Gorkana Alert: Tuesday 10 January 2012 The Ipswich Evening Star is stopping the Saturday edition of the publication and becoming a Monday - Friday title. The Ipswich Star will be a morning publication and a 25,000 circulation free edition of the paper will be home-delivered on Thursdays. Archant Suffolk also announced a special regional edition of the newspaper entitled the Felixstowe Star. The East Anglian Daily Times will also launch an Ipswich edition to compensate for the loss of the Saturday edition of the Ipswich Evening Star. Coincidentally, a new free weekly title will be launched entitled the Stowmarket Mercury. The changes will all take place in the week commencing Monday 23 January and will result in the loss of 14 out of 91 jobs at the publication. These will be from the photographic, production and features teams and writers from the newsdesk, sports, business and commercial will be unaffected.
