Provides information about the economy and the American workforce, including current labor statistics, unemployment studies and global labor reports. The following departments appear in Monthly Labor Review with varying frequencies: -Book reviews analyze the merits of today's books for the Review audience. -Beyond BLS briefly summarizes articles, newsletter items, reports, working papers, etc., from the information that passes across the MLR editors’ desks. -Flashback may present a factoid of interest or a link to a historic MLR article on a relevant topic. -Letters to the editor provide an opportunity to learn about other readers’ opinions. Monthly Labor Review DOES accept bylined articles/submissions on the bureau's major program areas: employment and unemployment; compensation and working conditions; productivity and technology; occupational safety and health; industry, occupational, and employment projections; and prices and living conditions. All papers submitted to the Review must be factual analyses not published elsewhere, and objective and analytical, rather than polemical in tone.
