Rock My Wedding
Launched in October 2009, the Rock My Wedding blog was created by Charlotte O’Shea, a newlywed with a "passion for the pretty". The blog was created, in Charlotte's own words with "the realisation that UK brides would benefit from a frequently updated on-line resource featuring achievable and unique Big Day inspiration". With that in mind, the audience does tend to be future brides in the UK region (73%) and international (27%). Rock My Wedding aims to bring soon-to-be-brides "a wealth of ideas through fresh and innovative content, daily 'real wedding' eye candy and access to the Industry's most desirable vendors". Sections on the blog include "Fashion & Beauty", "DIY & Decor", "Real Weddings", "Planning", "Find a Supplier", as well as "Galleries". The blog has a hugely substantial social media following which can be viewed clicking on the link to the social media channels. PR opportunities include "The Love Lust List" - a UK Wedding Directory hand-picked by the team at Rock My Wedding. Charlotte also adds: "We style and shoot our own editorial... so we would love to hear from beauty, hair, accessories and fashion brands in particular - we do beauty tutorials often and various features on honeymoon wardrobes." Rock n Roll Bride Magazine - Rock n Roll Bride blog
Rock n Roll Bride is a UK wedding blog, launched in October 2007, with the aim of providing alternative ideas to the "typical" wedding. Founder Kat Williams created the site in secret as she and her husband Gareth were planning their wedding in 2007. Kat states of the blog: "I want to share a diverse variety of wedding inspiration and the only thing I ask is that each feature is a perfect representation of the couple and their individuality. Think tattooed punk brides next to eco hippy chic weddings and DIY extravaganzas placed side by side with elaborate Alice in Wonderland themed weddings and you’re half way there". Kat also writes monthly articles for Photo Pro Magazine, WEDDING Magazine & Vintage Life Magazine. Rock n Roll Bride has been featured in publications such as Marie Claire Magazine, Cosmopolitan Bride, The British Journal of Photography, Easy Living, Company, Tattoo Revolution, Perfect Wedding, Wedding Ideas, Wed Magazine, Southern Weddings Magazine (US), The Guardian newspaper, The Sunday Times Style Magazine (Ireland) and The Daily Express newspaper. Rock n Roll Bride was also cited as one of the top 5 wedding blogs by Elle Magazine (UK), BrideTide’s Top 100 blogs to watch - in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and came first in the Best Style Blog category of the 2010 Bridal Blog Awards hosted by The Wedding Channel and The Knot. It was awarded Best Wedding Blog by Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2011. The blog is divided into five main sections: the Home section (which feature the real-life stories from newly married couples, the posts vary in length with a number of images of the couple), Submissions details the submission process, Contact highlights the best ways to get in touch with Kat and the team - and Get the Magazine in which the print magazine is advertised and sold. In terms of PR opportunities, they are limited as the blog is focused on real-life wedding stories, but sponsored posts and advertising are available. RRock Rose
This blog covers gardening. The fundamentals of working with bloggers are the same as with traditional journalists at traditional media outlets: respect their schedules; take time to read their material to learn their interests; and only contact them if/when they want to be contacted. You will also find that if a blogger is a journalist for another outlet(s), Cision tracks their contact preferences there as well. The outlet offers RSS (Really Simple Syndication).
