Background and Format: Formed in April 2013 by George Mair, Saltire News and Sport is a news agency based in Edinburgh covering news, features and sport across Scotland.

Launched in August 2010, Saltrock.com is a blog that features on the Saltrock.com site. Saltrock is the original British surf and beach brand that was born back in 1988 when two brothers travelling the world looking for waves arrived in the UK. They took a train straight to Cornwall and soon began screen printing t-shirts with original, hand drawn designs and selling them on the beach to make enough money to keep surfing. The designs took off and Saltrock grew, first nationally then internationally. Today the Saltrock family is stronger than ever, sharing the surfing ideal with the people from the surfing community and those outside with the same values and attitudes.
