Background and Format: The Stalybridge Correspondent, set up in 2017, is a free monthly newspaper for residents of Stalybridge and surrounding areas. It covers regional news, sports, lifestyle, entertainment, business, and youth topics. The paper is hand-delivered to more than 50 locations across the area, pubs, restaurants, cafes and the like, ready for readers to pick it up. The newspaper is published on the last Friday of each month except in December. There is no issue in December, but there are two issues in January, on the first and last Friday of the month. Articles and ads should be submitted by the 14th of the month. The paper has three sister publications: The Saddleworth Independent, The Mossley Correspondent, and The Shaw and Crompton Correspondent. The same team works on all of these publications.
