Background and Format: Voltimum is an internet portal for the electrical industry. It went live in six countries within Europe in February 2003. The portal is backed by leading European manufacturers of electrical installation products: ABB, Legrand, Nexans, Osram, Philips, Prysmian and Schneider Electric, who have invested over Eu 20 million in the project. Other manufacturers join the Voltimum online catalogue regularly as they see this unique initiative as an opportunity to increase the awareness of their products, being used on a daily basis by electrical contractors.
