About
Bio
Launched in 2008, A Girl Has To Eat is a restaurant reviews and food blog that carries reviews and information on restaurants around the world, particularly in London. In addition to reviews, recipes are sometimes posted on the blog.
The Blogger is an anonymous London resident, but she can be contacted. She was born in Hong Kong, raised in Australia and describes herself as a “self confessed food and eating addict with an insatiable appetite who grew up watching her father kung fu chop veggies and flip woks at the family’s Chinese restaurant”. She says that growing up in an environment that was influenced by the restaurant and her meals at home which were “fresh and plentiful”, she “developed what has now become an enduring life-long love affair with food”. She previously lived in New York for two years before setting her sights on Europe and eventually moved to London. She says the "meal of her life" was at Victor's Gourmet Restaurant in Perl-Nennig, Germany.
The majority of blog posts are reviews and they are divided into categories such as London by area, London by postcode and London by price, Michelin, other British restaurants, overseas locations, recommended restaurants and value for money in London among others. Other posts take the form of cooking features and recipes and posts about the Blogger's experiences at various culinary events.
PR opportunities include some brand name and product placement, but mainly restaurant reviews and launch news. The Blogger can be reached via social media.
