Launched in February 1989, BBC Hereford and Worcester is the local radio service for the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. It broadcasts from its studios in both Worcester and Hereford on 94.7FM (Hertfordshire), 104-104.6FM (Herefordshire), 738 & 1584AM, DAB Digital Radio and Online. It serves the rural communities across Herefordshire as well as the more populous Worcestershire with a range of programmes from jazz, folk, country, funk and new music to daily local news, everyday discussion and outside broadcasts. The BBC are unable to advertise on their UK outlets.

This station is aimed at listeners age 35+. It has an approximate 50/50 split of male/female listeners during breakfast and drive time and but in the daytime this changes to 40% male and 60% female.
