    TechCrunch

TechCrunch, launched in 2005 by Michael Arrington in California, aims to be a “leading technology media property, dedicated to obsessively profiling start-ups, reviewing new internet products, and breaking tech news”. TechCrunch is run by a number of editorial staff and Bloggers. Founder Michael Arrington stepped down as Editor of the site in September of 2011 and although he still works with and writes for the blog as Founding Editor, he now has no editorial oversight. Blog posts are categorized under headings including: Android, Apple, Facebook, Google, Groupon, Microsoft, Twitter, Zynga and Classics. The content relates to news and products; the posts are around 200 words long each. PR opportunities exist within product and research placement, product and service launches, guest columns, and event information among others. Advertorial also exists on the site. TechCrunch accepts bylined articles/submissions in the form of guest columns. Submissions should cover startups, entrepreneurship, technology investment or other technology-related musings. Email ideas or finished posts to guestcolumns@techcrunch.com. The fundamentals of working with bloggers are the same as with traditional journalists at traditional media outlets: respect their schedules; take time to read their material to learn their interests; and only contact them if/when they want to be contacted. You will also find that if a blogger is a journalist for another outlet(s), Cision tracks their contact preferences there as well. The outlet offers RSS (Really Simple Syndication).
