About
Bio
Ethical Perspectives on the News is a weekly, half-hour public affairs show airing on KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, IA. The producers of the show, a retired American Baptist minister and a retired Evangelical American Lutheran minister, read and watch the news throughout the week prior to a taping, and then select a current ethical issue. A panel of three moderators then discuss the issue on the air from a moral and ethical perspective. The moderators are different on each show. They are selected based on their knowledge or relationship to the issue at hand. Past topics discussed include the Enron situation, and what has been labeled as "the crisis in the Catholic church" involving accusations of molestation by priests. The show is sponsored by the Interreligious Council of Linn County. The show's producers are interested in topic pitches. They are also willing to provide tapes of their show for PR professionals wishing to view it. They send tapes all across the country. The show does not offer advertising opportunities.
