From 20 April the Saturday same-day publications will be rebranded as the Weekend edition and will double their pagination from 40 pages to 80 pages. The revamped editions will include a pull out supplement which will offer a full weekly TV guide, local entertainment and lifestyle coverage, new columnists plus several pages of puzzles. Emily Bridgewater will join the Express & Star and Shropshire Star as Weekend Editor on 22 April. Her new contact details will be alerted in due course. The apps are available from the Google Play store and they follow the launch of the iPhone and iPad apps in October. The Android app is available on a two week free trial and then costs £4.99 per month or £44.99 per year. The number of stories in each publication have been reduced and so the space given to each story has increased. This new look aims to give more depth to articles. The new edition will be delivered to more than 22,000 homes in Kidderminster, with an additional 1,600 copies being sold in the surrounding area. It will be filled with local news, along with national and international stories, sport and opinion. The new weekly Express & Star replaces the MNA’s Kidderminster Chronicle weekly.
