Background and Format: Heart West Midlands is a regional radio station owned and operated by Global Radio as part of the Heart network. It broadcasts to the West Midlands from studios in Birmingham. It broadcasts classic and contemporary pop music, local and national news and information for the West Midlands. The station is available on 100.7 FM, DAB Digital Radio and Online. Heart West Midland carries local output, weekdays, from 6:00-10:00am, 4:00-7:00pm and weekends from 1:00pm until 5:00pm (Saturday) and 12:00-4:00pm (Sunday) is produced and presented from local studios, based in Birmingham. Off-peak programming (such as Toby Anstis, Matt Wilkinson, Club Classics, The Wind Down, Emma Bunton, Mark Wright, Stephen & Emma, JK & Lucy, Jason Donovan and The Big Top 40 Show) is produced at various studios owned and operated by Heart 100.7's parent company, Global Radio Holdings Limited. Simon has spent the last five years as the afternoon Drivetime Presenter on Kiss 100. He will be leaving Kiss later this month. Simon will join Heart to host the weekday evening show, Monday to Thursday from 7pm, as well as Club Classics on Friday night from 7pm. Simon replaces Matt Wilkinson who will remain at Heart to present the Saturday and Sunday early breakfast shows, as well as covering daytime shows on Heart London. Simon’s contact details will be announced when he joins the station next year. gorkana consumer alert: Monday 26th January 2009 Global Radio has announced the second phase of the roll-out of the Heart brand. Twelve new stations will join the Heart network on Monday 23rd March, including GWR Wiltshire, GWR Bristol, GWR Bath, Gemini FM in Torbay and Exeter, Plymouth Sound, Orchard FM, Lantern FM, South Hams Radio, Fox FM in Oxford, Severn Sound and 2-Ten FM in Reading. These stations will join the other nine Heart stations launched in phase one in early January, including Ipswich, Colchester, Norwich, Dunstable, Bedford, Peterborough, Cambridge, Milton Keynes and Northampton, plus the three original Heart stations in London, West Midlands and East Midlands – making a total of 24 stations in the current network. All the stations produce and present their own local programming between the hours of 6-10am and 1-7pm Monday to Friday and between 8am
