The Irish Examiner is a daily national broadsheet newspaper. It offers national and international news and current affairs: business, finance, politics, law, technology, property, sport, culture, health and topics of general interest.
Cost: 1.90 euro (Mon-Fri), 2.00 euro (Sat)
It was founded by John Francis Maguire under the title The Cork Examiner in 1841. It rebranded to The Examiner and subsequently the Irish Examiner. The newspaper was based at Academy Street, Cork for over a century, before moving to new offices at Lapp's Quay, Cork in early November 2006.
Audience and Readership:
Anyone who wants to stay informed on current affairs in Ireland. 53% of readership are in the ABC1F category.
Distribution:
Primarily circulated in the Munster region surrounding its head quarters in Cork. Also available throughout the Republic of Ireland.
