Background and Format:
Launched in May 2016, it is a political discussion show hosted by ITV News Political Editor Robert Peston. Covering the major stories of the day, the programme features in-depth interviews with guests from across the political spectrum as well as figures from across the cultural landscape. The show also offers live viewer engagement, with interactive screens providing a portal into reaction on social media as well as the latest talking points from the political blogosphere and beyond. It used to be called "Peston on Sunday" airing in the mornings until it changed to Wednesday nights in September 2018.

ITV has announced that Robert Peston's current affairs show, Peston on Sunday, is to move to a new slot on Wednesday nights, airing after ITV's New at Ten, with a new shortened name of Peston.
