About

Bio

Michelle Hua - Wearable Tech Fashion is a site that features wearable tech - particularly in the UK. It was found by Michelle as part of documenting her business as a start-up designing fashionable heated gloves for women. Michelle Hua is the Founder of MadeWithGlove - she explains the rationale behind creating the product: "After suffering my own challenges during a 6 hour walking tour in Prague in -21 degrees of snow, my hands became numb and very painful from the cold. I had disposable hand warmers however, because I had my gloves on, I couldn’t feel the warmth from the hand warmers. So in sheer desperation, I put my hand warmers inside my glove and I felt immediate relief. When I returned to the UK, I researched fashionable heated gloves for women. All I could find were big, black and bulky heated gloves for men who ride motorcycles or for skiers out in the snow." and adds: "I love being creative, writing, meeting new people and seeing how innovative we can be with technology to improve and enhance our lives. My aim is to also incorporate technology with fashion because when we look good, we feel good! I am an advocate of supporting start-ups, entrepreneurs, women in technology, women in business, mentoring students as well as being involved in innovative projects." In her spare time, she loves cooking Vietnamese food, baking cakes, keeping fit and travelling to stay in touch with her friends and family all over the world. Previous posts on the site include: WTF | Wearable Tech Fashion | The Personal Space Dress?; How To Keep Warm When it’s Cold Outside; WTF | Wearable Tech Fashion | Legal News; WTF | Wearable Tech Fashion | LED Light up shoes. Usual audience is women between 24 and 35, tech savvy, fashion conscious, entrepreneurs, girls and women in Tech and STEM in the United Kingdom. PR opportunities on the site include reviews and news, collaborations, talk and speech opportunities (covering Wearable Technology; Fashion and Wearable Technology; Entrepreneurs and Start-ups; Women in Technology, as well as Women in Business), as well as guest posts and Michelle can be reached via email.
