Milk & Honey is an online hub launched in November 2011, bringing readers "the sweetest entertainment and inspirational news". Aimed at a female UK audience aged 16 to 30, Milk & Honey provides reviews, interviews, competitions and a range of lifestyle features.
Milk & Honey was founded by Stephané Alexandre, a media entrepreneur with a BA in Screen Cultures who in 2011 was featured in Powerful Media’s Future Leaders as one of the top 100 black graduates in the UK. She presented two seasons of OH Happy Day on OHTV, where she interviewed entertainers including Janet Jackson, Faith Evans, Mary Mary and Tyler Perry. Stephané says she has "nothing but passion and zeal for the world of entertainment" and with Milk & Honey is "aiming to cultivate positive ideas and messages to the young women of today". She is a huge fan of Maya Angelou, Michael Jackson, Julie Andrews, musical theatre and Sidney Poitier films.
Categories on Milk & Honey include News, Features, Style & Beauty, LTMD, Campaign and TBCS. The main sections include a range of lifestyle features, including recommended products, London-centric events, restaurants, music, and many "real life" entries featuring advice and essays on family, friends, school, relationships and self-esteem. TBCS (the Big Cheese Show) features videos of interviews with musicians and entertainers. LTMD, or Letters To My Daughter, is a monthly series inspired by the work of Maya Angelou in which women from around the globe write letters to the blog's readers "to remind young women of their worth, their value and above all their potential". The Campaign section features the A21 Campaign, a charity spearheading the fight against human trafficking.
