    Bloomberg Television

Bloomberg Television is a 24-hour cable network covering national and international business and financial news. The network launched in the U.S. in June 1999 (the Bloomberg News newswire launched in 1990 and the Web site in December 1995). Topics covered on the network include daily stock activity, NASDAQ, futures and bonds, banking, investment options, personal finance, mutual funds, mergers and acquisitions, money flow, and general economic conditions. Based in New York, Bloomberg's global network includes 750 reporters at 79 news bureaus around the world. Programming often includes interviews with brokers, investors, CEOs, and other influential business people. PR professionals are advised to fax time-sensitive press releases to the Bloomberg assignment desk. For non-breaking news and general story ideas, contact the producer of the appropriate Bloomberg program. Many of the network's reporters and correspondents want to receive information directly as well. All information sent must be related to some aspect of business and be of interest to a mass audience. Do not call between 4pm and 5pm ET. Keep pitches brief but specific, and include appropriate contact information. Lead times vary depending on the nature of the story. Breaking news can be covered instantly while some features may take weeks to produce. Bloomberg Television is viewed predominantly by adults interested in daily business news. 34 percent of Bloomberg's audience has a household income of over $100,000. Business related releases should be emailed to release@bloomberg.net. International releases should be sent to newsalert@bloomberg.net.

    Car and Driver

Car and Driver presents the latest new cars, vans, SUV's, and pickups, both imports and domestics, with an emphasis on those cars made for the man or woman who knows the rewards that an outstanding automobile can bring to its driver. Editorial examines in detail new technology, new directions, and new ideas put forth by the automotive industry and takes a diversified approach to the vehicles they cover, ranging from practical, to the exotic, to the opinionated. Their mission is to provide the best written, most accurate, and most thorough reporting on automobiles available. The publication was originally founded as Sports Cars Illustrated in 1955. In its early years, the magazine focused primarily on small, imported sports cars. In 1961, Editor Karl Ludvigsen renamed the magazine Car and Driver to show a more general automotive focus. 2005 marked the 50th anniversary of the publication. The magazine is notable for its irreverent tone and habit of "telling it like it is," especially with regard to underperforming automobiles. The magazine was one of the first to be unabashedly critical of the American automakers. However, it has been quick to praise noteworthy efforts like the Ford Focus and Chevrolet Corvette.
