    Background: BBC Radio Gloucestershire is a local radio station which started on 3 October 1988. It broadcasts from its studios in London Rd, Gloucester on 95FM (Stroud), 95.8FM (Cirencester) & 104.7FM, 1413AM, DAB Digital Radio and Online. The station carries music, local and national news and sport. The majority of the station's programming is produced and broadcast from the Gloucester studios. During off-peak hours, BBC Radio Gloucestershire also carries regional programming for the West and the South West, including its own output on Sundays. As with all BBC Local Radio stations, it also airs the networked weekday evening shows, originating from BBC Radio Leeds and produced independently by Wire Free Productions. The station's local presenters include Mark Cummings, Anna King, Claire Carter, Dominic Cotter and Steve Kitchen. During the station's downtime, BBC Radio Gloucestershire simulcasts BBC Radio 5 Live overnight. It has an approximate 50/50 split of male/female listeners during breakfast and drive time and but in the daytime this changes to 40% male and 60% female.
