Background and Format:
Launched in 2008 as Watch, W is UKTV's flagship entertainment channel. W features a mix of original shows such as ON, an authored documentary strand featuring films by Sara Cox, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Grace Dent, as well as US exclusives such as Code Black, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, CSI:NY, Grimm and Masterchef USA. It is available on Sky 109, Virgin 125 and BT 311.

UKTV have launched three channel brands - Watch (previously UKTV Gold +1), G.O.L.D. and Alibi (previously UKTV Drama). Watch will operate as a catch-up service for shows such as Torchwood, Mistresses and Larkrise to Candleford, as well as a new show with Richard and Judy which will air on weekdays. Next to this channel will be G.O.L.D. - Go On Laugh Daily - which will be a channel dedicated to comedy shows such as Only Fools and Horses, Fawlty Towers to the Vicar of Dibley, as well as two brand new commissions - Blackadder Exclusive: The Whole Rotten Saga and Blackadder’s Most Cunning Moments.
