The Telemundo Network is the leading Spanish-language television network in the United States and Puerto Rico, reaching 93 percent of the Hispanic population. It is committed to broadcasting bi-cultural programs that "truly reflect the lives of Latinos living in the United States." Telemundo offers a wide range of programming, including sports, news, children's programs, and movies. They currently hold alliances with Nickelodeon, MTV, and the Discovery Channel. Telemundo is owned by NBC Universal. NBC completed its acquisition of Telemundo Communications Group on April 12, 2002, giving NBC ownership of the Telemundo Network. Telemundo is available in 93 percent of all Hispanic households. Their production headquarters is in Miami with additional production sites in Los Angeles and Mexico. Telemundo's Digital Media Division leverages the network's assets and consumer relationships in the world of multimedia. Collaboration across divisions of Telemundo is a hallmark of this area, ensuring that programs and promotional activities are extended to consumers through non-television devices such as cell phones, personal computers and other electronics. Additional strength to this new division comes from partnering with NBCU's Digital Media Group on opportunities and best practices.
