Background and Format:
Founded in September 2012, Aeon is a digital magazine of ideas and culture. The channel aims to publish profound and provocative thinking on the web, asking the big questions and finding the freshest, most original answers, provided by leading thinkers on science, philosophy, society and the arts. Aeon has four free channels - most weekdays, the team publishes essays - longform explorations of deep issues written by serious and creative thinkers. From Monday to Friday, ideas are published - short provocations, maintaining the group's high editorial standards but in a more nimble and immediate form. Aeon’s Video channel streams a mixture of curated short documentaries and original Aeon content, including a series of interviews with experts at the forefront of thought.

Aeon, a new online culture and science magazine, has launched this week. The magazine features original long-form articles, as well as shorter features, by the world’s leading writers, thinkers and experts, with a new article added to the site each weekday. Illuminated by specially commissioned photography and illustrations, Aeon provides the immersive experience of a print magazine - in an exclusively digital form, with no paywall.
