GEARS, published nine times per year, is an automotive trade magazine geared to the transmission rebuilding industry and backed by ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association). According to the publisher, "GEARS is the place to go for answers to technical and business questions. (It) conveys more new and reliable information to more transmission technicians throughout the industry than any other current industry publication." Each issue includes topics on: technical, shop and office management; safety and EPA concerns; new products and industry newsmakers; tips on sales techniques, legal pitfalls, insurance hazards, financial management, shop safety, environmental regulations, employee relations and other business topic; as well as current interests and humor.

GEARS, the automotive magazine, has recently re-launched its website. In addition to an entirely updated look, the site features an interactive digital version of each current issue. The digital version of GEARS is enhanced with page turning software, keyword searches and more. Each registered visitor to the site will have access to a complete year of GEARS in searchable pdf formats. The publication will continue to update its website over the coming weeks to add more features such as the ‘Extra’ section with a conversion calculator for such things as gear ratios, speedometer drive and driven tooth counts, solenoid on/off charts and industry polls.
