About

Bio

Geektown was founded in 2006 by David Elliott as a place where he and his friends could post news and stories about the various things they liked. Most of those things would fall under the category of ‘Geeky’, and so Geektown was born. Over the years the site has grown to cover many areas of geek culture, including tv, film, games, gadgets, books and clothing. One of the most popular areas of the site is the ever growing tv air date database. Unlike traditional TV listings, we only list the premiere dates of shows, but we will list more general expect return dates (i.e. Spring 2018, Oct 2016 etc...) along with historical air date info, show synopsis and trailers. Along with the blog, we also run a weekly podcast show called 'Geektown Radio'. This covers many of the same things as the site, and includes audio interviews with film makers, game makers, actors, authors and musicians, along with tv/film news and air date information.David Elliott is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Geektown, and has a background in web design and content creation. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, and making sure the quality and standard of the stories fit in with Geektown’s style and appeal to it’s visitors. He’s also host and editor of Geektown Radio. Andrew Brown became TV Editor for the site in 2012, to help maintain the highly popular UK Air Dates and Renewed / Cancelled sections. He is a retired marketing manager based in North West England, who enjoys good television, from wherever it may come. Chris Brown is one of the contributors to Geektown Radio, and occasional film & tv reviewer. Chris has a background in PR, and is also the editor of Polaroids and Polar Bears, a culture guide for Birmingham and the West-Midlands, and a writer for Time-Out. No relation to Andrew. Amanda Johansson is a contributor to Geektown Radio, and the resident book reviewer. Amanda also has a background in PR, and runs her own book review site. Adam Evans is one of the Geektown Radio contributors and a man of many hats. Not only is he a geek who does the occasional podcast, he’s also one of the UK top outdoor instructors, a highly skilled caver, canoe coach and climber, and a qualified hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner. Martin Jensen is a London based film reporter. A recent film graduate from University Of Westminster he has a love of all things cinema, from the most obscure experimental work to the latest blockbusters. Kat Collins is our U.S. Reporter (West Coast). Based in California, she runs satirical sketch comedy site DogNewsTeam.com, and covers any stories that require a U.S. West Coast presence. The main focus of the site is TV Shows, Films, Gaming (PC & Console), Gadgets & Comic Books, but we also cover traditional board & card games, book reviews, and cover live events such as Comic Con and The Gadget Show.PR opportunities include news, reviews and interviews related to the topics listed above.
