Background and Format: Heart London is a regional radio station owned and operated by Global Radio as part of the Heart network. First launched in the West Midlands in 1994, Heart arrived in London in 1995. Its playlist consists of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s, alongside the best current songs. He'll co-host the Breakfast Show with Harriet Scott, covering for regular co-host Jamie Theakston while he’s away on holiday. Gorkana Consumer Alert: Tuesday 2nd May 2006 Heart 106.2 is repackaging Jamie Theakston's breakfast show in order to launch the show nationally across Heart's digital radio Network. Heart's DAB regions in North East, North West & Yorkshire, South Wales, the West and central Scotland will now receive the main contents of the show along with localised news and travel bulletins. Theakston's London show is currently the second most popular breakfast show behind Capital Radio's Johnny Vaughan and will continue to broadcast between 6am and 9am. It has an approximate 50/50 split of male/female listeners during breakfast and drive time but in the daytime this changes to 45% male and 55% female. In April 2006, Heart launched a 'nationwide' service for its 106.2 breakfast show presented by Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott. On launch, the show could only be heard in the north-east, the north-west, Yorkshire and the west of England, in central Scotland and south Wales. Secondly, the show is carried only on digital radio in these areas - over on Heart's FM stations in Nottingham and Birmingham, the breakfast DJs remain in their jobs.
