Background and Format:
Launched in April 2015, the Manchester Weekly News is a weekly regional title serving Greater Manchester. As well as local and community news, the Weekly News includes highlights of what’s on in Manchester, fashion, shopping and lifestyle features plus a round-up of the latest news and opinion for fans of Manchester United and Manchester City. A sister title to the Manchester Evening News and manchestereveningnews.co.uk, it replaced MEN Media weekly titles the Stockport Times, Wilmslow Express and the Advertiser series in Tameside, Salford, Oldham and South Manchester & Trafford. Half of the content is editionised in order to serve the respective local communities. The publication is localised into eight editions - Salford, Tameside & Oldham, Stockport East, Stockport West, South Manchester, Sale & Altrincham, Stretford & Urmston, and Wilmslow.

The paper is distributed to homes across Greater Manchester. It has an estimated 400,000 readers with the high ABC1 profile audience (Source: Publisher).
