Background & Format: Launched in February 2015, Michael Church's Blog is a personal blog about "classical music." The blog provides a mixture of music content with Michael blogging about what interests him. Many posts are about reviews of music festivals which are written in a first person style and may include photographs. Others consist of recitals, latest instruments, musician residencies, operas and music competitions. Others consist of young musician schemes by the BBC. The Blogger: Michael Church's Blog is written by Michael Church who writes about music and opera for The Independent and for the BBC World Service. "He has made BBC World Service programmes on folk music in many countries; his award-winning field-recordings of the music of Kazakhstan, Georgia and Chechnya were released on the Topic label." BBC Music contains the best music content, including live performances and interviews, from BBC TV, radio and online. Playlists can also be personalised to suit the user’s musical taste. Gorkana Alert: Thursday 19 September 2013 BBC Radio 3 has announced it will be making a few changes to the station’s weekend schedule. From 28 September Matthew Sweet will be hosting a new film music programme Sound of Cinema between 4-5pm every Saturday. The show will mix recommendations and non-playlisted film scores, which will be presented by the film critic and will focus on new releases of that week. From 2 November Huey Morgan will move from Sunday afternoon to Saturday mornings at 10am-1pm, taking over from Edith Bowman whose series will come to an end. Sunday mornings will still be hosted by Cerys Matthews but her show is being extended by 1 hour, seeing the show run from 10am-1pm. The Sunday Special slot will move to 1pm. The hour long show includes one-off guest playlists and documentaries. Guy Garvey’s show will be moving from Sunday 10pm to the earlier time of 2pm. Don Letts will be moving to fill Guy’s show at 10pm and will be running through to 12am.     Background and Format: BBC Scotland is a regional radio station covering  news, sport, music, the arts, comedy, drama, history and lifestyle and traffic updates. It has an approximate 50/50 split of male/female listeners during breakfast and drive time and in the daytime this changes to 40% male and 60% female. The programme debuts as part of BBC Scotland’s pop-up music festival, BBC Music at the Quay between 4-8 June.
