WRAL-TV is the local NBC affiliate for the greater Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. The station broadcasts locally on channel 5 and is a sister-station to Raleigh's Fox affiliate, WRAZ-TV. WRAL-TV hit the airwaves in 1956 as an NBC affiliate and switched to ABC affiliation in 1962. The station swapped networks again in 1985, this time with CBS, before returning to NBC in 2016.

WPVI-TV is the ABC affiliate for the Philadelphia market and broadcasts locally on channel 6. Before being picked up by ABC Television Network, WFIL was home to Dick Clark and American Bandstand (then known only as Bandstand) from 1952-57. The station assumed its current call letters in 1971.

WBUR debuted in 1950 as a low-power educational station owned by Boston University. The station became a National Public Radio member station in 1980 and established its identity as a news station.
