Background and format:
Launched in 2007, Original 106 fm (Aberdeen) is a local radio station which broadcasts hourly news bulletins from Aberdeen, covering local, national and international news. Bulletins are five minutes in duration between 7am and 6pm, three minutes at other times. During breakfast and drivetime, there are news headlines at twenty past and twenty to the hour. Sports news is covered in each hourly bulletin and there are comprehensive sports round-ups at 9:30am and during "Original Tonight". Traffic and Travel bulletins are broadcast every twenty minutes during peak travel periods.
It was acquired by DC Thomson in March 2019.
