The show keeps tabs on the latest news in medical research and advances. Issues of concern to all Americans are discussed, including economics, education, poverty, domestic & child abuse, urban/rural problems, food safety & labeling, government reform, substance abuse and consumerism. The show is syndicated by MediaTracks Communications. Radio Health Journal is run on a barter basis. It airs for 28 minutes, leaving two minutes for sales time. A 60 second spot on the program costs $3,940. The show averages 2.1 million listeners per quarter hour. Deadlines for news pitches are four to six weeks prior to broadcast.
