Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) targets nonprofit executives, grant-making executives, social entrepreneurs, and corporate executives concerned with social, environmental, and community issues. The publication aims to foster an exchange of views between public, nonprofit, and private sectors, and serves as a source of ideas to help corporate and nonprofit executives think strategically about sustaining communities while building enduring companies. It provides insights from world-class faculty, cutting-edge research, real-life case studies, and commentaries by leading executives. SSIR is written for a global audience of people working on social change. About 45 percent of SSIR’s online readers reside outside the United States, and about one-third of their readers fill the CEO, president, or executive director role within their organization. Close to half of SSIR’s readers lead nonprofit organizations, and about 15 percent are leaders in foundations or other philanthropic institutions.

The lead time for feature and news coverage is one day to one week. The lead time for The Wall Street Journal Reports is three to five months, although stories are often developed during the two or three months immediately preceding the issue. The lead time for Marketplace and Enterprise is two months. Deadlines are at 5:30pm ET for in-depth business and Marketplace stories and 3pm ET for shorter stories.

The service is part of Bloomberg Financial Markets and covers business, financial and economic issues, as well as technology, international, national, political, entertainment and sports news. Bloomberg employs more than 2,300 reporters and editors in bureaus around the world. The news service publishes more than 5,000 stories on an average day syndicating globally to over 400 newspapers across 70 countries, with a combined circulation of 73 million people. The news service also has a network of more than 400 photographers based globally and also maintains a photo archive including more than 260,000 images. PR pitches and press releases sent to release@bloomberg.net go to their assignment and speed desks to be forwarded to relevant reporters for scheduled and breaking news. There are no specific deadlines as news is produced 24 hours a day. Reporters are required to verify the authenticity of a press release before using it.
