Tax Research UK is a blog about tax and economics in the UK and is written by Richard Murphy on behalf of Tax Research LLP.
Richard is a Chartered Accountant and has been described by The Guardian as an “anti-poverty campaigner and tax expert”. He specialised in tax before setting up his own firm in 1985 and has also been Chairman and Chief Executive of more than 10 SMEs. Richard has written for various publications and has appeared in BBC television and radio documentaries on taxation issues. He is also Founder of the Tax Justice Network, Director of Tax Research LLP and is a visiting Fellow at Portsmouth University Business School, the Centre for Global Political Economy at the University of Sussex and at the Tax Research Institute, University of Nottingham.
Posts are discursive and comment-led and cover taxation and political issues surrounding tax. They are categorised under various headings which include: Banking, Auditing, Budget, Briefing, Capital Gains Tax, Corruption, Accounting and Bonds among others.
