Background and Format:
Chronicle Live is the website for The Chronicle (Newcastle) and covers news, in your area, what's on, business, Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC. It’s published by NCJ Media, an arm of the Trinity Mirror. The website is aimed at everyone living in and interested in Tyneside and Wearside, as well as most of Northumberland, parts of County Durham and even into the Scottish Borders. Trinity Mirror has announced that it is merging two of its North East websites. The Journal (Newcastle) will no longer have a dedicated website and its content will be rolled into The Chronicle (Newcastle) (www.chroniclelive.co.uk) to create a regional news, sport, business and entertainment platform for the region. The website will now cover a patch from the Scottish border to Teesside, through Northumberland, Tyneside, Sunderland and Durham. It will also include a business channel for the first time, powered by The Journal (Newcastle) business team. The website www.thejournal.co.uk will continue to exist as an archive site but from 13 July, visitors will be redirected to ChronicleLive (www.chroniclelive.co.uk). ChronicleLive, the website for the Newcastle Evening Chronicle is being re-launched as part of a re-branding of the Evening Chronicle, with an aim to extend the brand within the region. The website will be updated daily, and will be more directly linked with the Evening Chronicle and other Trinity Mirror publications in the region, including the free weekly newspaper Chronicle Extra.
