Months of Distribution: January, April, July, October Aims of the Journal: The Journal of Deaf Studies and Deaf Education is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal integrating and coordinating basic and applied research relating to individuals who are deaf, including cultural, developmental, linguistic, and educational topics. Content: JDSDE addresses issues of current and future concern to allied fields, encouraging interdisciplinary discussion. The journal promises a forum that is timely, of high quality, and accessible to researchers, educators, and lay audiences. The Journal publishes original, scholarly manuscripts relevant to children or adults who are deaf, including topics such as development, education, communication, culture, and clinical or legal issues. Editorial Contacts: An editorial board can be viewed here Manuscript Submission: Although most of the articles published will make both empirical and theoretical contributions, purely theoretical or review articles are also welcome. The overriding criterion for acceptance of an article for publication is that it must make a significant contribution to the field. The evaluation of an article's quality takes into consideration the significance of the issue that it addresses and the appropriateness of the methodology. Empirical articles should clearly state their relevance for application and, similarly, articles that are primarily of an applied nature should address the broader theoretical issues.
