UK Consumer Alert: Wednesday 22nd May 2019
TI Media has announced it has agreed to sell its music titles NME and Uncut to Singapore-based BandLab Technologies. The deal - which includes the brands’ social, digital, print and experiential assets - is expected to complete by 31 May 2019. It’s anticipated that all NME and Uncut staff will transfer with the sale and will continue to be based in the Blue Fin Building, London. There will be no interruption to Uncut’s publishing schedule. IPC Media has announced further digital expansion of 34 brands on Amazon’s recently launched Kindle Fire. To coincide with the roll-out, Amazon has selected six of IPC's leading brands – marie claire, woman&home, Decanter, Cycle Sport, Ideal Home and Uncut – for promotion with a special offer for readers to claim a free 60-day trial period. Uncut magazine has undergone a complete redevelopment. It will deliver a bigger and more comprehensive reviews section, a redesigned cover and a new layout. The reviews section will now be split into two sections; one for new releases and one for archive releases, reissues and box sets. The all-new reviews section will include how to buy guides, more detailed, in-depth analysis, more artist Q&As, breakdowns of the content and quality of box-sets and major reissues, as well as a new live reviews section. uncut.co.uk will feature a cleaner design and improved user experience. Uncut, the IPC Media music and movie title, has unveiled a redesign responding to reader feedback for more coverage of the contemporary music scene. The May edition of Uncut, on sale from Thursday 6 April, will showcase a range of newer music, including Franz Ferdinand, Jack White's Raconteurs, Editors and Flaming Lips, as well as its customary mix of established artists, which this month includes cover star Morrissey promoting his new album 'Ringleader of the Tormentors', New Order's Peter Hook, Ray Davies and Scott Walker.
