WFOR-TV is the CBS affiliate for the Miami- Fort Lauderdale, FL market. The station is owned by CBS Broadcasting Inc. WFOR-TV broadcasts locally on channel 4. Known as CBS 4, it has a wide range of shows, including local news. News segments include consumer, health, and investigative features during various newscasts. WFOR-TV debuted as WCIX-TV in 1967 and was the first channel to offer programming in English and Spanish simultaneously. WFOR-TV assumed its present shape in 1989 when it became a CBS affiliate. WFOR-TV is a sister station to WBFS-TV. PR professionals should send submissions to the assignment desk via fax or e-mail. However, breaking news should be sent by fax and NOT e-mail.
