WFXT-TV is the local FOX affiliate on channel 25 for the greater Boston area. WFXT-TV is owned by Cox Media Group, Inc. and broadcasts locally produced news. News segments cover investigative, consumer, lifestyle and legal news stories. In September 2003, the station debuted its morning news broadcast, FOX 25 Morning News. WFXT-TV made its debut as WXNE-TV on October 10, 1977. The station was initially owned by the Christian Broadcasting Network and the focus was mainly religious. The station became a FOX affiliate in 1996.
PR professionals should send submissions to the assignment desk via the news department's fax. Most of the assignment editors can be contacted via the news department phone. Deadlines for sending in press releases are on-going. Video clips are accepted both in Beta SP and DVC Pro formats. The station accepts public service announcements three weeks in advance of the event. PSAs are aired on a "first come first served" basis, and should benefit a non-profit organization while being appealing to the community at large.
