WLS-TV is the ABC affiliate for the Chicago market. The station is owned by the ABC Owned Television Stations subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. WLS-TV broadcasts locally on channel 7. WLS-TV airs local news daily, mornings and evenings. Each year the station broadcasts six community parades celebrating the ethnic richness and diversity of the city. Send press releases to the assignment desk by fax and include each page with a subject heading and a page number in the right hand corner. Do not call the assignment desk at 9am CT, as the news department conducts a planning meeting at that time. The news department does NOT accept any unsolicited story ideas or submissions via e-mail; send them via fax. Press releases can be emailed to wls.planning@abc.com for non-urgent, non-breaking news. In the event of breaking news, please call +1 (312) 750 7070. ABC7 News DOES NOT accept press releases and media advisories via email . They ask that these be faxed directly to the news desk at +1 (312) 899 8019.
