YOU is a weekly lifestyle magazine supplement for The Mail on Sunday, providing features on Beauty, Fashion, Food and real life stories. It covers fashion at the start alongside regular columns, fashion news, health notes and celebrity interviews.
Audience and Readership:
The supplement is aimed at women between the ages 17 to 70. It is seen as a magazine that is passed around the family and feedback from readers indicates that many people buy The Mail on Sunday to read YOU.
Deadline:
It is published every Sunday and they work 6-8 weeks in advance - the magazine goes to press every Friday. Style Notes and Fashion Forward pages tend to be planned around five weeks in advance.
Time of Publication:
The magazine is also printed 10 days before it reaches the shelves which is every Sunday in The Mail on Sunday.

There is a key features meeting every Monday and a planning meeting on Thursday mornings. All of YOU’s main fashion is now shot in-house, although they do work with brands on sponsored shoots around twice a month. These will be arranged by the editorial team and will be styled in-house to ensure it’s done to fit with YOU. There will also be no indication that the brand had sponsored the shoot. PR shots are used for other parts of the magazine including its still life pages. The team likes to be sent samples when requested. Random samples tend not to work as the team end up with cluttered desks and individual items will disappear in the crowd. It can be found on on instagram here.
