Background & Format: ITV launched the brand new series On Assignment in March 2014. The show features stories behind the headlines dominating the international news agenda in the series of monthly current affairs programmes. On Assignment is fronted by Rageh Omaar, who is ITV News International Affairs Editor. ITV News produced the monthly programmes, comprising of long-form reports, focusing on providing colour, background, insight and perspectives on some of the biggest stories on the news agenda. The programme focused on international coverage but will include some stories from the UK. Background and Format: Launched in May 2016, it is a political discussion show hosted by ITV News Political Editor Robert Peston. Covering the major stories of the day, the programme features in-depth interviews with guests from across the political spectrum as well as figures from across the cultural landscape.
