Newtrade Publishing has unveiled a new look Retail Newsagent, ushering in a new era for the 110-year old trade magazine. Now with colour-coded sections, the title gives readers more news and business information. Retailer and expert industry viewpoints have been brought together in the Comment & Analysis section while the magazine continues its balance of industry news and regional, supplier and product news every week.
In 2006, Retail Newsagent backed a number of campaigns, such as the Crackdown on Counterfeiting tobacco series and the Independent Achievers Academy business development initiative. This year will see more campaigning for independents, via news reports and roundtable discussions. The title has also revamped its magazine coverage, focusing on easier navigation and essential business tools for news and magazine retailers. The website is aimed at senior managers and decision makers from all areas of the retail sector. The website has 12,000 registered retailer subscribers (Source:Publisher). However, deadlines are strict and non-negotiable. • The Retail Gazette is only seeking quotes in response to the points/questions posed in each monthly topic. • Due to the nature of retail’s fast-paced news cycle, Retail Gazette will only consider submissions from the 1st day of each month and for the topic pertaining to that month. • Submissions months in advance will not be considered. • Submissions must be in the form of quotes, with a strict maximum of 350 words. • Additional quotes that do not necessarily respond to the questions are welcome, however it must still relate to the topic in general and must still be within the word limit mentioned above. • Submissions of quotes are open to anyone.
