About

Bio

Launched in April 2007, Stuck in a Book is a developing arts blog that is predominantly focused on books. It is based in Oxford and therefore is mainly aimed at a UK audience. It is a blog about 'books...and sometimes cake, music, cats..." The blog was founded by Simon Thomas in April 2007 and features hundreds of book reviews. Simon is a Christian self-confessed avid book reader who is also a vegetarian and twin. He says, "you can guarantee I'll be stuck in a book!" He also works for Oxford University Press, but states all views are solely his. You can browse the blog by author, publisher and decades. Simon is not interested in books on an e-reader and says he is most interested in early 20th century books. Simon makes many lists about books and every year compiles his favourite books from that year. Blog posts are very in depth and lengthy and often include inserts from the book he is reviewing. In terms of PR opportunities Simon is open to reviews and says, "Sometimes I'm able to push aside my university work and review a book! I might well have to say no, but do email me." Other PR opportunities exist in the form of giveaways. The best way to contact the blog as Simon suggests is via email; although is also available via Twitter, where he is very active and is responsive to tweets.

Established in 1914 and geared toward individuals involved in the legislative process at federal, state, local and grass root levels. Designed to cover public affairs from an insider's vantage point. Provides readers with a rigorous examination of American politics, foreign policy and culture. Includes news and editorials on domestic and international issues. Features current events, politics, education, books, theater, film, music, art and culture. If you are pitching an idea for an essay, reportage, or other nonfiction, briefly explain your angle, why it’s timely, and why you’re equipped to write it; generously hyperlink any references and citations in your pitch, so the editor can easily vet it. If you are sending a completed submission, briefly summarize it in your email and either embed or attach your full article. In all cases, include a brief biography and links to examples of your work. The staff will not respond to a pitch that is sent to multiple editors, so it is encouraged to determine where your piece best fits—within the online verticals or within the pages of the magazine—and limit your email to one editor. PRs should send their releases to the relevant department around a month before they would like it featured. Twice a year, The Telegraph Magazine publishes a 64 page fashion supplement, called Telegraph Fashion, to coincide with the new season's looks.
